Influence Of Formation Conditions, Subsequent Annealing and Ion Irradiation on the Properties of Nanostructured Coatings Based on Amorphous Carbon with Gold, Silver and Nitrogen Additives

Nanostructured coatings based on amorphous carbon and carbon-doped with gold, silver, nitrogen were obtained by the pulsed vacuum-arc method. Carbon have been annealed in a vacuum as well treated argon ions. The alloying of elements that do not form chemical bonds matrix (Ag, Au) leads to formation gold or silver nanocrystallites sizes 2 ‑ 20 nm carbon, whose density depends concentration doping element. Annealing silver-doped islands surface size order micrometers. This is due diffusion coalescence small into larger ones. HRTEM method discovered effect twinning after annealing initial state (the single-crystal regions an altered orientation crystal structure) matrix. Analysis Raman spectra pure coating showed addition decrease sp3-phase particularly evident nature changes at 600 ºC. increase sp2 phase fraction, additional significant D - peak intensity clusters 5 15 nm, which are localized but fill entire space. a-C: Au irradiation ions shows number nanopitches decreased ion irradiation, simultaneously roughness degree, besides, electrical conductivity result content. It was found conditions nanostructured their subsequent processing allow controlling properties nanocoatings (structure, nanoparticles, topography, conductivity).
